Engelberg Center on:
Innovation
Is innovation more than mere novelty? Innovation helps to drive a type of progress - better medicine, faster software, more efficient solar panels. It also helps to expand creativity. New technologies create new types of expression, which in turn help us to better understand ourselves. Innovators often seek to control their innovation in order to reap its rewards. Society often benefits when innovations spread quickly and broadly. Balancing reward, incentive access, and diffusion is the constant challenge at the heart of innovation policy.
